WWII Online is a massively multiplayer simulation of World War II combat fought on land, air, and sea. Players can captain ships, command tanks, pilot combat aircraft, or fight "down and dirty" in the infantry or marines. In this persistent world, you can create a character from a specific country, allied with either the Axis or the Allies. The more experience you gain, the greater your rank and influence on the battle, although casual players will also be supported.

From a standpoint of concept, it's one of the most ambitious games around. But people don't play concepts; they play games. That's where things tend to break down.
