ASIAN MEDIA DEVELOPMENT GROUP (AMDG) is the largest PC games distributor in the Philippines. Established in November 1999, the Company boasts of a nationwide sales and distribution network reaching more than 90 % of internet cafes. The Company has also aggressively pursued the retail market by having its products available in more than 200 retail outlets in the country's major cities.
AMDG is the sole and official Philippine partner of VIVENDI Universal Games (VUG), a global leader in multi-platform interactive entertainment. Through this partnership, AMDG carries game titles from BLIZZARD Entertainment and SIERRA Entertainment, makers of phenomenal hits COUNTERSTRIKE and WARCRAFT 3. To supplement its current titles and to satisfy the need of its customers for more variety of games, AMDG is currently sourcing for strong titles from other suppliers.
The Company is responsible for establishing two organizations that have significant relevance to the industry.
The Philippine Network Gaming Alliance (PNGA) is a national organization of cyber cafes that aims to unify the gaming industry to raise industry standards, to promote self-regulation and bring about legislative changes that would be favorable to the stakeholders of the industry. At present, there are more than 1,000 internet cafes that have acquired PNGA membership.
To help members of PNGA to grow their business, AMDG has an offer called NETEDGE, which provides benefits like financing, legal assistance, extended payment plan and business consultancy to the NGC owners. An important part of the program is the capability of members to acquire products and services from NETEDGE business partners such as hardware and DSL service that the members need to achieve their business objectives.
In addition, the Championship League of Amateur Network Sportsmen (CLANS) was established to bring together the gamers. It is also a national organization where gamers can avail of significant benefits as well as access the latest information about gaming. In the future, CLANS will support AMDG's business plans for online gaming and merchandise sales.
To support both the internet cafes and the gamers, a national tournament called CLANWARS, featuring game titles that AMDG distributes. Participants from all over the Philippines participate in this annual event.
