Established in 1995, Auran first came to prominence with the hit RTS "Dark Reign: The Future of War", which won Strategy Game of the Year in 1997. As one of Australia?s oldest and largest game studios Auran has won numerous technology awards and operates from world-class facilities in sunny sub-tropical Brisbane. Boasting a team of internationally experienced developers, Auran?s staff have worked on a titles including: Asheron?s Call 1 & 2, Star Wars Galaxies, Ultima Online, Mythica, Middle Earth Online, Need for Speed Underground, Magic and Mayhem and many more.
Auran is currently producing V2.0 of its advanced 3D game development engine, Auran Jet, as well as 3 other major projects. These projects, which each leverage the Auran Jet technology base, are: A soon to be announced "Triple-A" MMOG being developed with leading Korean publisher Hanbitsoft; My Virtual Home, an advanced interior design and home renovation package; and the successful Trainz Railroad Simulator, which has more than 100,000 registered users and dominates the niche train simulator market.

Federal Government R&D Start Grant Auran was awarded a ?2 million grant to develop the S.A.G.E. (Auran Jet) technology. The grant was awarded in March 1999 to be effective retrospectively from October 1998.
1998 AVSDA Awards In December 1998, Auran?s Dark Reign was awarded Highest Selling PC Strategy/Simulation.
1998 Queensland IT&T Awards for Excellence In October 1998, Auran was presented with the export award in the Arts and Entertainment section. Auran was also a finalist in the Emerging Exporters category.
