Since 1997, before the game studio Deep Shadows was founded, leading programmers Roman Lut and Sergey Zabaryansky worked together developing the Vital Engine.

In 1999 they worked at GSC Game World on the 3D Action game Codename: Outbreak. The game was based on the first version of the Vital Engine and was published world-wide by Virgin Interactive.

Having successfully finished this project they founded Deep Shadows and developed the new RPG/Action title Boiling Point: Road to Hell which was based on Vital Engine 2.

In October 2003 the world-wide publishing contract with ATARI was signed; in Russia and the CIS countries the game was published in spring 2005 by the Russobit-M.

The company¡¯s primary objectives are the development of unique projects and the creation of large realistic worlds. Currently the company is working on the next iteration of Boiling Point and the new project Precursors. The company employs over thirty specialists and is open for co-operation in the game industry field.

Boiling Point: Road To Hell

A sudden loud telephone call awoke my senses and cut my life in two. From the calm, muted evenings of boredom, wine and general inertia, that call thrust me into the raging hell of Colombia, a world of cocaine, violence, blood, sweat and the vengeful smell of gunpowder.

Twenty four hours ago I was calm, blindly watching TV in my Paris apartment and now the raging Colombian sun is already burning my head as the gun belt is slipping on my shoulder just as it used to. Yes, some things are familiar to me but this place is not. Someone in this god-forsaken country dared to kidnap my daughter. Somebody has made the biggest mistake of their life.

Precursors

Precursors. The Creators. The Legend of the Galaxy. We can only guess who of the existing races carry the genes of the Progenitors¡­ The Worlds are endless¡­ Beautiful, unique and dangerous. Some of them are inhabited, the others serve only as the shifting bases for the smugglers. Some worlds are in the infancy of their development evolution, while others have already collapsed.

Only when you yourself travel through these worlds, you will see burning seas and frozen skies, then you will realize the power of nature. Only then you will see corrupted politicians, unselfish patrons of the arts and brutal despots, then you will realize the truth of the society. Only then you will deep into unknown sectors of the Galaxy, face the unknown abnormalities, fly in the comet¡¯s tail and plunge into some accidental portal ¨C then you will realize the endless depth of the Space.
But this is just the future. And it¡¯s still unknown what will this journey be like ¨C but we can say it for sure ¨C such journeys will be unforgettable
